"Under Delzer’s able and sensitive direction, the talented Granite actors shared their monologues beautifully and simply, on a simple and beautiful — one that features wooden chairs, and partially-constructed barn-like beams overhead, which give the feeling of a work in motion, which I suppose this work will always be ... as will the question it leaves us asking: how can any human being inflict such barbaric cruelty on another human being?

The Granite’s production is so well done, and so packed with powerful performances — and with lighting and music to match — that it goes a step further, by inviting us — gently and without judgment — to search our own souls, to have a look within, and ask ourselves if we, like Matthew’s grieving mother, have the capacity to offer mercy."
